Mr. Milk Man

I've decided it's time I start sleeping better at night and being more awake during the daytime. In fact, I sleep around 4-7 hours straight at night now! Most nights I go to bed around 10 or 11pm, and I'll sleep until 4-6am! Not bad for a four week old! And I'm awake more during the day time, so my mom is starting to get more photos of me with my eyes open. I'm Mr. Milk Man! (and that I am! I drink 4 ounces every 2 hours during the day!) Daphne is always right in my face........ One day I'll be bigger than her and I'll pick on her the same way she picks on me now!
Oh man, I guess she does love me....
Mom wanted to recreate a photo taken of Daphne of me sleeping together when I was just a day old. But we were both awake, and I kept grabbing her hand...

Size - Small

One of my favorite onsies is a green onsie with little lizards on it. My mom can't get over how small it is - here it is with a normal ink pen next to it to show you how small it is...
And then here I am wearing it! Big Yawn!! I sleep alot... Mom was trying to get me sitting in Daphne's chair, but I was too sleepy to let her photograph my eyes open. Soon this little onsie won't fit me anymore, and I overheard Mom say she was going to put it on Daphne's baby doll...

Uncle Eric!

My Uncle Eric lives in Denver, Colorado, so I was several weeks old before I got to meet him for the first time. But he came into town with his friend Courtney and they stopped off at the house to meet me! Uncle Eric brought me a book about John Deere Tractors - which of course made Gramps pleased that he raised such a fine son. And I'm confused - I keep hearing that there are not many red heads in the world. But it seems like everyone around me is a red head! My big sister Daphne, my mom, my dad, my dog Ophelia and now my Uncle Eric! And I'm told that I have another Aunt and Uncle I have not met yet who are also red heads! Whew...... Red Head overload.

I thought it was funny that Daphne was scared of Uncle Eric! So he tried to get her to warm up to him by teasing her of taking her outside - something she loves to do...

Size Comparison

Everyone keeps telling me how tiny I look - so here's a size comparison photo to show how tiny I am. I think I'm pretty normal - so you can tell here by looking at Mom's hand next to my head. When I'm at Walmart or the grocery store - people always comment how small I am. Well, I should be small - I'm only three weeks old!

Bare Butt Photo!

Oops, I need to learn to spell. That's by BEAR butt photo, not my bare butt photo! Did I make you look? But my new lil outfit with the bear on the butt makes everyone around me smile... especially when I wear it with my bear shoes!

Two week checkup

I officially turned two weeks old this week! I'm growing up pretty fast, better start prepping for the SAT's... I had my first doctor visit this week, too. I'm officially 7 pounds and 6 ounces now (that's two ounces above birth weight) and I'm 21 inches long (I grew a whole inch). And that puts me at 25% for weight and 50% for height. Looks like I'm going to be tall and skinny like my dad...

And just because I'm skinny, don't let me fool you. I'm an eating machine!! You could set a clock by me, every two hours on the nose I am ready to eat. I started off eating from my mom, but there was some problems there, so now the magic can on the kitchen counter feeds me. It's nice though, because it gives my mom a break and others in the house can help feed me.

First Bath...

In the exact same day, my cord and my plastibell fell off! Big day for a little guy, huh? So that meant I could have a real bath instead of just using the washcloth. I think Daphne was more excited about it than I was, though. My mom pulled out the little tiny bathtub and filled it with nice warm water. It felt so good! I didn't want it to end. And I never cried, which shocked everyone. I liked this experience...and Daphne told me that's a good thing, because my parents will force me to repeat this bath thing pretty often...

On Dixie's new blanket

My Grammy's friend Dixie made me a quilted blanket (Thanks Dixie!) and my mom thought the back of it would make a nice backdrop for some photos. So yet again, a photoshoot was attempted on me... What do you think?

In our PJ's

One morning Daphne and I were still in our PJ's and we were cuddling in her armchair. And what do you know, Mom showed up with her camera. I guess she was bitter her photo shoot didn't work out... See how much Daphne loves me?

So tiny...

I was born at 7 pounds and 4 ounces, but by the time I left the hospital on Friday, I was at 6 pounds and 10 ounces. On Monday I had my first appointment, with a lactation consultant. My mom was having some trouble feeding me, just like she did with Daphne. It was my first time to leave the house. Check me out in my car seat! I'm so tiny that even with the straps pulled all the way tight, it's still almost too loose...
Daphne likes to watch everything I do...
The visit to the Lactation person went really good. I found out I had gained three ounces, but that was probably since my parents had been sneaking me formula between meals. After talking to the consultant, my parents decided to make the switch from breastfeeding to full time formula. They took me back to get weighed on Thursday and I was already up to 7 pounds and 1 ounce, which is wonderful.

First Attempt at Photo Shoot

Mom tried to take a photo shoot of us kids, but neither one of us really quite felt like taking photos.... As can see below, I think I was crying in everyone of mine... Part of that could have have been Daphne's fault as it seems like she was picking on me the whole time... See, in this next one she was tickling my toes...
Or it could be my mom's fault for trying to put me in strange positions. What child in their right mind would take a nap in this position?
Then Dad got in on the action. I thought he would take care of me, but he kept holding me out in strange positions......
Maybe next time...

Putting faces with voices

For months, I've been hearing all these voices and now I am trying to put faces with them. So I'm checking out everyone holding me. My eyes are still the dark slate blue that I think most babies are born with. I like looking around at everyone. Hmmm, so this voice is Gramps?
Yup, it's Gramps...
And this voice is Mommy... I'm getting these faces down pat.

Bumbo Growth Chart (practice shot)

My sister has her first year of life documented via a "Bumbo Growth Chart". Each month on her birthday, Mom would take a photo of her. Even though I was only four days old, Mom wanted to practice with me on a Bumbo Growth Chart photo... By the way, these photos are "trick" photos. I cannot hold up my head yet. Mom would hold up my head and move her hand really quick and take the photo before my head fell over...

Sleeping in my new bed...

I'm a sleeper...I love to sleep. And when I am not sleeping, I'm probably eating. That's about all I do right now. Here I am sleeping in my new bed... I like it so far!

Welcome Home!

On Friday, I was able to go home!! How wonderful! Grammy and Daphne had taken down the countdown on the chaulkboard and replaced it with a "Welcome Home" sign! All for me!!!And of course coming home meant getting to meet Ophelia! She likes me, or at least she likes to smell me!
Here Daphne is introducing me to Ophelia. I'm sure soon enough the three of us will be best buds!

More Family shots...

We tried another round of family photos, since the first round had my mom still wearing a hospital gown...
Much better with round two!

Web Nursery

A gal from "Web Nursery" came to take a photo of me, so my parents got me all dressed up in a cute outfit and the lady took my photo. After she left, my parents re-created a few of the photos, especially because I was crying in all the ones she took...

Ten little toes...

My legs and arms are skinny as can be, but I have really long toes and fingers according to everyone who looks at them. (and why does it seem everyone who holds me wants to look at them?) My mom went and got her toes done all pretty just before I was born, so here's a way to show them off...next to my skinny little feet! (Mom wants me to note for you to please ignore her swelling...)

Red or Strawberry Blonde?

My parents are telling everyone that I am a redhead. But I'm not fully convinced. I am debating whether or not I am redhead or have Strawberry Blonde hair... Here are two shots of my hair - see what you think...

Some of my new Friends!

I had a lot of friends come visit me at the hospital! Everyone wanted to hold me! My parents tried to photograph me with everyone, but a lot of people got missed. Here are a few of my new friends. Here is Debbie, she grew up with my mom. And here's Nate and Devon! They went to college with my parents.
Here is Miss Alison. She was my very first visitor! She even beat all the grandparents! She happened to be in the hospital, so she stopped in to greet me. A few days later, she brought up her husband Matt and two of their four sons.

And here is my new buddy Elijah. His sister Eden is friends with my sister. His parents grew up with my mom.
Here is Ms. Karen. She used to work with my Grandma, back when she used to live here.
And here is my cousin Taylor. She just lives down the road from me and she likes to share her hand me down clothes and toys with my sister.
Here is Ryan and Charla, with their son Jake. Ryan went to college with my parents.
Sorry any of the friends we missed photos with... I'm sure over the years we'll have chances to get photos together.

Co-Worker Visitors!

In addition to a lot of family, many of the friends who came to visit my parents for my birth were my parent's coworkers! My parents tried to take a photo of me with all of them, but a few of them were missed. Sorry those of you who were missed. Here I am with Debbie. And here I am with Rose.
And here I am with Randy.
And here I am with Amy and Miss Audra. Amy used to work with Mom, but she transferred to a different department not long ago.
Miss Audra is kinda cute! I hope to see her more....
Here I am with Abby (she doesn't work with either parent, but she was there at the same time) and DeAnna.

Here I am with Dan and Laura. Dan works with my parents, but his wife Laura doesn't. My parents have known Dan and Laura for about five or six years, long before Dan worked with my parents.
Jennifer is holding me here, and Cara is standing close waiting for her turn!
Janet sure looks happy to be holding me! Want to babysit?
And here's Sharon holding me, I think she wants to babysit, too.
