Bumbo Growth Chart Month 8

I'm Eight Months Old!! Where has the time gone? Lets see here, what am I working on these days? My favorite thing by far is eating. I will eat anything in sight, including your finger if you don't remove it fast enough! I'm not crawling yet, but have no fear - I can get where I want to go by rolling and scooting. The other night I was sitting up and I fell over - and I was able to push myself back up to a sitting position. I'm lifting my arms up for you to pick me up (my other favorite thing). I'm "talking" more now... I say "mamamamamamam" and I just started to say "daddadadadada" and "babababababa" As much as my sister watches Shrek, you would think that might be my first real word. I love to stand up, but I only do this when an adult is close by... I "dance" myself over when standing. I'm posting two Bumbo photos... This first one was on Sunday morning. And since it was only about 7am and still pretty cold outside - I wasn't in the best mood for photos...
So on Monday (today) Mom took this photo. Yes, these photos were taken in consecutive days. High yesterday was only in the 30's and you can see there was snow. Today the bank sign said it was 73! What a difference a day makes! So here's the overall - Months 1-8...

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!! To help celebrate my friend Miss Samantha decorated me up a little bit... What do you think?

I Can't Beleive...

...she actually did it... A few weeks ago Mom posted on my blog an ambigram of my name that she had created in Photoshop. Well, she went and got it as a tattoo! She actually did it. Crazy that woman is... She tweaked it a little from the version that was posted on here, but it's very similar.

Guess I shouldn't be complaining, she got my name as a tattoo before she got Daphne's! Take that Daphne!

Good Morning!

Good Morning! One fine Saturday morning I was in wonderful spirits, so Mom took my photo. Even though it's slightly blurry, Mom said I was cute. Gosh darn it Mom, you better say I am cute no matter how bad the photo is! I just like how if you look close you can see all four of my teeth.

Joy Ride

March weather in Missouri is always so iffy... One day it will be in the 70's, sunny and like a touch of Heaven. Then the next day it's only 25 and snowing! (I'm not kidding...It's snowing today and earlier this week it was in the 70's!) So on those nice days, it's time to get out of the house we've been couped up in all winter and enjoy that sun! The subdivision across the street from us has a walking trail, so my family enjoys venturing out to that trail.

I Heart Aunt Kathy

During the graveside services (aren't they called Interment or something close to that), my Aunt Kathy held me the whole time. Mom was busy taking photos and chasing Daphne, my Dad was a pallbearer, and Grammy and Gramps were grieving in their own way. So I got to play with Aunt Kathy. My new thing is hair - I LOVE to grab people's hair while they are holding me - and I will either just grasp it in my hands or I'll suck on it. I know, I'm strange... But that's what I am trying to do to Aunt Kathy in both of these photos...

Landon and Jude

My Mom and her cousin Lydia have a strange connection - they are always pregnant at the same time! Daphne and Clayton were born about two weeks apart, and Landon and myself were born about two weeks apart! Crazy, huh? But it's fun to have cousins about the same age.

So while my family was down in Southern Missouri for my Great Grandpa's funeral, I got in lots of quality time to play with Landon. But he's more advanced than me - he can already crawl and pull up to a standing position! I learned a few tricks from him, and just waiting for the day to reveal them.

Family Ties

A few weeks ago, my Great Grandpa passed away. As sad as it was, I know the silver lining in the clouds was that all the family got to see each other again. And I know that Grandpa isn't in pain anymore - as he's up in Heaven with Jesus and Grandma. The funeral was very touching, or so I am told. I was out in the lobby with Aunt Kathy. But here are some photos of me with various family members... My Uncle Eric! He flew in town, and it was only the second time I had ever met him, and I don't really remember the first time since I was only a few weeks old...
My sister doesn't like Uncle Eric, but I am fine with that, because it meant he held me more!
I had to post this photo to prove that I actually wore shoes. You see, I never wear shoes. At least yet. But it's like my parents suddenly remembered I own shoes. And I have these sweet tennis shoes, and this trip is the first and last time I am able to wear them since they are pretty much too small already.
Here's my Mom and Uncle Eric. I'm not sure I am posting this photo - I'm not in it! Guess I want to show off my Uncle Eric some more...
Here's another photo I am not in - but I liked it nonetheless. This was at the graveside service for Grandpa, and my cousins Wes and Jordan (who are twins!) were walking on the fence and I told my mom to take a photo...

The Dog and Me

Miss Ophelia and I are buddies. She's getting a little older now, and I think my sister is a little too rough with her. So she prefers to hang out around me, where it's safer. That's okay, I love my dog!

Sitting on my own

Most kids sit up around 5-6 months, but I enjoy being held or my bumbo chair a little too much. So I didn't sit up on my own until around 7 months old. But I'm doing it really good now!

Never fails though, when I am sitting on my own, this pesky red head girl comes and sits down next to me. I always think she is going to give me more toys, but instead she typically takes toys away from me... Guess that's the joy of the being the little brother.

Prayers Wanted

Please pray for my family... Tonight at 5pm, my Pa Pa (the other one) passed away. He's not been feeling good for a while, but blood clots got worse over the weekend taking him to the hospital where he coded. He passed away tonight. Please keep my mother's family in your prayers. Thank you.

Thankful Tuesday

This Tuesday, I'm thankful for all my friends and family who hand down clothes to me! You know who you are, so thank you. Without you, I'd still be wearing size 3 month pants, which are shorts on me now.....

Ambigram

My mom has become obsessed with ambigram's - more specificially designing names of our family as ambigram's. What is an ambigram you ask? It's a word design that can be read correctly read from top or bottom. So if you would hold your head upside down, you would still be able to read my name above. My mom used a .gif creator to animate it for you, but this blog won't post it. She created my name already and is working on Daphne's. I think she wants to get these as a tatoo...

Photobooth with Mom

(click on image to see bigger)

My mom was reading some of my friend's blogs the other day - specifically Malachi's blog. On there, Malachi and his mom took a few special moments to get a photo together. And that's when my mom realized that since she takes all the photos - she is never in them with me. So off she dragged me to one of those photobooth's and embarrassed the heck out of me.

Bumbo Growth Chart Month 7

Am I really seven months old now? Where has the time gone?? We have a bunch of snow on the ground right now, and my mom wanted to take photos for this month Bumbo Growth Chart photo outside in the snow - but since I'm sick with a fever and a runny nose - going outside in the snow was out of the question. So instead I'm in my lovely giraffe hand-me-down onsie from Daphne. I was smiling so Mom grabbed the camera. I don't think she intended this to be my growth chart photo, but my smile was too darn cute to pass up she said...

To help you remember - here's months one through six...
And now the start of months seven through 12...
