Four Generations

On my second day at the hospital, Grammy brought up Pa Pa to meet me. One of my middle names is after Pa Pa. I'll get to see him a lot after I get to go home, because right now he lives at my house! So I was really happy to meet him, too.

And since we had four generations in the room, we took a photo with all four generations! Me/Daphne, Mom, Grammy and Pa Pa!

Meeting Grammy, Gramps and Grandma

Some of my first visitors were Grammy, Gramps and Grandma! I really love all my grandparents and I was so glad they were able to make it down. I can't wait until I get to see my Grandpa, too!
Everyone loves to hold me! Here's Grammy holding me...
And here's Gramps holding me, he likes to hold me as long as I'm not crying...
And here Grandma is holding me, while Grammy holds Daphne.
Grandma is cuddling with two of her three grandchildren. I can't wait to meet cousin William in person!

Meeting Daphne!

After all the recovery process Grandma, Gramps and Grammy brought Daphne down to the hospital. They were all very anxious to meet me!!! Daphne is my big sister, she's 18 months older than me, which doesn't sound that much older, but she sure is a lot bigger than me! And she already knew how to cuddle with me. She loves to hug and kiss me!Just look at our cute little red headed family! You can't see my red hair, but trust me when I say I have it.

Meeting Mom and Getting Named

Mom finally came out of the O.R. and went into Recovery. While she was in there, Dad got to take me back to see her for the first time. I was sure glad, because I was hungry, too! I spent some time cuddling with both Mom and Dad, and they decided on my name. Of course, they chose Jude; but the other front runners were Rourk, Emerson, Rogan or Asher. After all these months of no name, it was nice to finally have one... Jude.

Start of my story...

Long before the sun rose on Tuesday, July 29th, my parents woke up and snuck out of the house so not to awaken my big sister Daphne. They arrived at the hospital and soon Mom was sporting a lovely gown and was all hooked up to several machines in the triage area. Several of the various doctors and nursing staff came in to talk to my parents, and then promptly at 7:30am, Mom walked into the O.R. She was administered a spinal block to numb her from the chest down so they could proceed with the c-section. Dad had to get all dressed in scrubs, complete with hair cover and mask, and soon joined her. At 7:51am, the doctor lifted me up in the air and I filled the room with my cries. Mom loved hearing it, because she knew I was finally here! (a tall curtain kept her from seeing the activity in the room)
A nurse carried me to the other side of the room, and Dad came with us. They allowed him to cut my umibilical cord, something he wasn't able to do for Daphne.
And then he was proud to show me off!
After I was all cleaned up, Dad carried me over to show me to Mom. She would have to stay in the O.R. for about thirty more minutes to get all sewn back up. Dad and I went back to the nursery so they could do some tests on me.
Check me out! I weighed 7 pounds and 4 ounces!!

Jude is in the House!

Hello fine readers out there. My name is Jude and I'll be your host from here on out. Technically, I've been writing the posts already, but now I'm officially here. Jude is in the house! Allow me to introduce myself. I am Jude Louis Darrow Churchill. Louis is said like Louie, and that's named after my father's grandpa. Darrow is said like Dare-Oh, and that's named after my mother's grandpa.

I was born on Tuesday, July 29th at 7:51am. I weighed 7 pounds and 4 ounces and was 20 inches long. And don't worry, tons of photos will be coming, but Blogspot is having problems right now and I cannot add any photos...

And yes, I have red hair, too.

Final Flings...

On Tuesday morning, bright and early I will be born! The countdown on the blackboard in the kitchen is getting marked off each day (mostly by Gramps, he tends to get to it before my mother). And sometimes I wonder if my parents are ready... Why you ask? Well, first of all they STILL don't have a name for me. They had it narrowed down to three first names and about five middle names. And then they decided to use one middle name and moved two of the other middle names to first names... So now they have FIVE first names and one middle name.
Eventually they better decide!
The other reason I am not sure if they are ready, is that they keep doing final flings! Last Thursday, mother and father got a babysitter for Daphne and went out to eat and then saw the newest Batman movie, "Dark Knight". And then yesterday, mother went out with some of her girlfriends for a "Girls Night Out", but a boy went too! Little Mcalister had to come too, because he is only five weeks old and is breastfeeding from Miss Alison.
The girls met up and all got their nails done...some did their toes and some did their hands. What is it with women and painting their nails??? My mother did blue polish since she is having a boy here in a few days. She wanted a footprint or a pacifier or something, but the artist didn't know how to do that, so he did a flower instead.
And my mother's friend Rachel makes and sells diaper cakes! So she made this one as a gift for me! How cute, thank you Rachel!!! So now that all the flings are out of their system, maybe mother and father are ready for my big arrival on Tuesday!
